Edge Virtual journeys can be tailored for small or large businesses. For a global telecom company the challenge was how to raise business partner capability in smaller operating divisions or countries where it was not cost effective to run face to face workshops.

The solution was the Edge Business Partner Virtual Journey which we tailored to create a fully online, interactive, experiential and globally accessible programme. The programme was delivered over 6 months with different modules and activities made available each month. Each month had a key focus or theme.

We worked with the HR team to identify which building blocks they wanted within the journey and the outcomes they wanted to achieve. Each month started with a live interactive Virtual Classroom around the theme for that month. Individual and collaborative challenges were set to work on during the month. Additional resources such as eLearning, learning bites, checklists, articles, toolkits, podcasts and videos were made available on a dedicated Programme Site. Participants were able to access 1:1 coaching sessions which supported their learning during the course of the programme.

Virtual Coaching is a key feature of many of our journeys. Coaching sessions are flexible. Participants can choose a coach from our portfolio of experienced coaches, book an appointment, choose a preferred method i.e. skype, telephone. Many of our participants continue coaching relationships with us, finding the support, challenge and insight useful as they develop their careers.

The Edge Virtual Learning Environment was the solution for a global bank with a finance function going through major restructuring. We developed and delivered a Finance Academy to support new roles and their goal to raise the overall capability of the function. The Finance Academy won the ifs industry award for innovation for the organisation.

An interactive portal was created which enabled all finance people to easily access learning. A blended approach to learning was provided from e-learning, webinars to face-to-face activities. As well as accounting specific technical areas, the Finance Academy aimed to build commercial skills with wide-ranging activities targeting business and industry knowledge, softer interpersonal skills and essential management and leadership skills.

The Academy was run on an annual cycle and during any 12 month period, and in addition to the virtual resources, key events were hosted from careers fairs, meet the CEO, quarterly briefings, business bites, as well as opportunities to engage in cross-functional challenges and external challenges.

The Finance Academy was one of the first of its kind within the profession and has since been replicated in many organisations.

Edge Virtual creates programmes from a portfolio of virtual modules. Individuals can choose different soft skills to focus on. Personal Impact is a 6 hour module delivered over a 6 week period with each week focussing on different aspects of personal impact.

The module is highly interactive, giving participant’s opportunities to practise skills and receive feedback. We introduce practical tools and techniques which inspire confidence and help participants understand a little bit more about themselves and how to be more effective in the workplace.
